CHOOSING YOUR SIZE CHAIR

It's URGENT that you measure your minimum seat width between armrests, before ordering any of our chairs. Here are two good methods:

1. If you have an armchair that is barely big enough for you to sit in, and you snugly fit between the armrests, then measure that width with a tape measure or yardstick. If the chair is a bit larger that you need, then measure the extra space with the tape measure while sitting in it, and then subtract that number from the width of the chair between the arms. (Example: Your test chair is 24" between the arms. You have 4 inches to spare when you sit in it. You therefore need a minimum of 24" - 4" = 20" between arms.) So you can order our 24" or 30" chairs, but not our 18" chairs, at least, not for your own use.

2. If you don't have such a test chair, you can sit down on a sofa of the edge of your bed, and place two heavy books, one on each side of you, touching your hip. Then get off the bed or sofa without moving the books, and measure the width between the books with a tape measure or yardstick.

It is also important to find a chair you now own that is at a comfortable height. If the chair you buy from us is too low, you might have trouble getting up off the chair. If it is too high, the seat can reduce the circulation in your legs by exerting pressure on the back of your thighs if your feet don't touch the floor.
